Island Girl in the Big City!

Remember that big United Nations exam I was complaining about? The four and a half hour long one? Well it came and went and my right hand is still intact. Thankfully.

Since the exam was happening in New York bright and early on Wednesday morning, I decided to take the Tuesday morning bus to make sure I arrived with enough time to spare. I’m no stranger to taking the bus to NYC, but this trip was a new experience – I got upgraded to the VIP bus! Loads of leg room, leather seats, seatbelts, tray tables and a sun roof! Since I had no intention of studying once I got to New York, I figured what better way to spend my few free hours than to see the city with Ms. See You In The City – fellow blogger and friend Devon.

I get overwhelmed every time I visit New York. It’s so busy and crowded that sometimes I feel I’m going to get swallowed up in the wave of people hurrying past me. This time was no exception. As I walked through the rain with my backpack trying to dodge the frazzled shoppers pushing past me, I couldn’t help but feel a little nervous and slightly afraid. That soon faded once I made to the Macy’s Christmas window display. Instead of feeling like an overwhelmed island girl, I just felt like a regular tourist! I met up with Devon and we started our adventure to see as many of the favourite NYC tourist sites as possible. Here is some of what we saw in three hours!

P.S – The exam really wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be 🙂
