Three Suitcases and A Box

I’m writing this post from my bedroom in Grenada. In case you didn’t realize from my last two posts, my whirlwind of an experience in DC has come to an end and I’m back home in Grenada.

I’ll be honest with you, after graduating from American University I was a little unsure of whether or not I wanted to stay an additional year. I didn’t want to move in with my brother and the thought of being a coffee-making, filing, fetching intern unnerved me (oh how little I knew). As much as I had enjoyed my time at AU, I was ready to go home.

In hindsight, staying in DC this past year has probably been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Clearly  this blog is a good reason why, but I’ve also been lucky to call some great people my friends. Blackfinn dance parties, happy hours, wine festivals, restaurant weeks, embassies – we had some amazing times! To Nikki, Kelly and Ashwini, so many of these adventures would not have been possible without the three of you. Thank you for always being up for a lime! To everyone else I met while in DC – I’ll miss you!!!!

So now that I’m back home, I’m sitting in my room staring at the three suitcases (the box hasn’t arrived yet) and I don’t know where to begin. I’m not sure what my next move will be – can someone say Funemployment? I will miss DC tremendously, but I’m looking forward to what Grenada has in store for me this time around. There’s a whole world of adventures out there waiting for me and I’m ready for them.

A few shots from my last dance party in DC…

Dance Party!

The night before my flight to Grenada Sireen, Nikki, Kelly and Ashwini came over to help me pack/take my stuff. Sireen brought the Georgetown cupcakes, Nikki the funky halloween cookies and Kelly surprised me with the most awesome Cookie Monster cupcakes. Confession – I had seen these  cupcakes on a Mommy Blog that I read sometimes, Little Pink Monster, and I may have mentioned that I needed them in my life.

Best. Surprise. Ever
My girls – I’ll miss you so much!!!!
