One year ago I embarked on an adventure. I left Grenada and moved to Washington, DC to pursue my graduate degree at American University School of Communication.
 
Fast forward one year and with my degree in hand I think the adventure is now beginning. Without the security of school, the daunting reality is starting to sink in – I’m an adult now. Job hunting, taking on temp work, paying bills – can I be 10 years old again? At first I was afraid of this new “adventure”. I didn’t want to move in with my brother, I didn’t want to be an intern. I was getting disheartened by every job rejection and non-response. I wanted to move back home where I would actually be someone, instead of one of the millions up here. I’m still afraid… The only difference is that now I’m ready to take on the challenge. Bring it on DC!
