I’ve been back in Grenada for a little while now and I have to apologize for neglecting the blog. After a full two days of travel which included a 13 hour flight from Sydney to Los Angeles, full day layover, red-eye flight to Miami, and an 8 hour layover to make it home – I needed to take a break to recuperate! That jet-lag was no joke.
My last few days in Sydney were great. I went to see an outdoor performance of a Midsummer Night’s Dream at Centennial Park, walked the Harbour Bridge with my cousin, and went to see the Australian Ballet at the Sydney Opera House. I also took a quick trip to Melbourne.

I wanted to visit Melbourne for a number of reasons, but mainly I wanted to visit my friend Marsha
and meet several of my family members who, up until last year, I didn’t know existed. My Grandfather was from Poland, and while he migrated to the West Indies several of his cousins made the move to Australia. I met a few of my cousins in Sydney, but most of the family lives in Melbourne. I stayed with my cousin Eve who is like the family historian. She’s been building our family tree and it is fascinating. I can now trace my Polish family back a few generations and it’s such a great feeling knowing where I come from. I still have some cousins living in Poland – next big adventure maybe?
